Success! The final 100+ feet of drain pipe has been installed and covered. The drain pipe was necessary after the pond to the east began leaking and subsequently flooding the runway. A big thanks to Steve Willison for organizing the work, along with Gary Elliot. Special thanks to Tony Jacobson for bringing his tractor! This saved us many, many hours of back-breaking labor. Also helping was Dave Rosenthal and Dave Stafford, plus Morgan Wilson brought us a nice lunch. Also, a special thanks to the Cal Poly Aero students who manned the shovels. All in all, a very productive day.
This continuing effort helps satisfy SLO Flyers MOU agreement with Cal Poly in regards to field maintenance.
