Recently a petition was submitted by some of our members to allow RC turbine powered aircraft operation at the EFR. The Club officers along with inputs from other knowledgeable people conducted an extensive fact finding investigation into the requirements that would ensure a safe integration of this activity to other flight operations. This included all the AMA, FAA, site specific rules and guidelines and fire extinguishing equipment requirements. This was followed by a flight demonstration to demonstrate compatibility. A comprehensive document was produced for operations and a new Club standing committee was formed for RC Turbine Flight Operations, with Sean Worthington as chairperson.
